First of all the art work is priceless, the picture alone is a blast from the past. Double gate fold digipak but there is not a booklet or additional artwork. Now for the music perhaps it is the production values that throw this thing off. Sounds like a French Joy Division at times muddled with drug infringed ranting. I don't think of this as new wave at all, it sounds more like post punk (emphasis on punk) with gothic over tones. Disc one is much better than disc two, track 7: Le Diable is my fave and could have easily been called Halloween since it is spooky in the good sense of it. Disc 2 is live and the vocals and quality of the recording make for a noisy listen. Disc one does become catchy after about the 10th listen.
