No matter what people say - Isotype is the best single of 2017 ! Also the second single I like and to be honest - even I liked very much Pandora´s box song, Isotype is the first single I bought from OMD and also the new album - The Punishment of Luxury - black vinyl, yellow vinyl, CD and deluxe signed box including red vinyl. CD/DVD separately later. I feel this album I love !Last year, New Order suprised me, this yes - OMD !And I do like UK music - Pet Shop Boys, Erasure for so many years, but now I found new hidden secret and I like it so much.Thank you, guys, I appreciate your hobby & devotion in music ! And Isotype is the BEST !

Talk about coasting! Dull, duller, dullest. No wonder they needed all that special packaging. Thank God I never spent those exorbitant, wallet draining prices on Pledge. This'll be a FLAC rip all the way. Must every track be a retread or an homage to Kraftwerk? Eeesh.

Congratulations again: this is one of the very few albums which I couldn't enjoy any of it's single movement! (It seems to be a debatable achievement).Well, there was a honourable effort were put into making this album - much ado 'but nothing... Cristal clean sounds, not bad mixing but that's all.... Lacks the spice. No remarkable melody or chord progress. Dull and very boring "compositions"; very plastic all-software sounding result. But why the hell must a group with such a reputation copy Kraftwerk, is for me beyond understanding. The 1:1 lifting of the frequency modulated reso-fall sound of Kraftwerk - Antenna, the sound why the song was partly unforgettable sounds almost like it was sampled. (Certainly it was recreated). OMD thought that it will not be recognised? Or they have no original ideas? It seems so. The whole synth orchestration is like always: dull, lacks of any news and ideas. The whole creation sounds like a machinery without the feel of the electro. (Discrepancy 1.) Barren of ideas to put it right. I'm sorry but the one who is responsive for the synths, I have to say, he is a well polished amatheur. I always had this feeling concerning to OMD, even when I was still 15. I could have made it all much better with simple devices... The song: The punishment of luxury... 1:1 Karl Bartos (Kraftwerk, Electric Music, Elektric Music) counterfeit. Was very promising first but turned to be an immediate emptiness. This German electro is rooted from Kraftwerk and Karl Bartos but doesn't suit to OMD. (Discrepancy 2) The singer has an outstanding and nice voice. But not for such music. For me this singing was always disturbing and was very against the electro-feeling. It lightens it all up. They simply don't match together regardless of how the voice is forced so. Everytime I hear OMD the first thing I notice is the discrepancy (3) between the electro-kind and this delivery of voice... Sorry. I'm writing all with a massive OMD background: I've spent my whole months pocket money for the new records of them between 1982-84...I give one + for the concept: all-electro, conceptual continuity of the mid 80' and not forward. It's very respectable. One + goes for the overal everything: sounds and mixing goes together. One big - is for copying Kraftwerk and Karl Bartos. One big - for the horrible emptiness almost all along. They get a - for the plastic sound and the lack of notion when creating the sonic timbres.Anybody who once heard real electro or just music in general, couldn't be feed with plastic commonplaces. Sorry guys. Let's make MUSIC and I will spread it.
Exellent
I ordered from Pledgemusic and purchased the yellow album and signed book as well as the bundle including CD, CD/DVD, black vinyl, cassette and signed book and the 5/12" bundle which ships separately, although 1 of the 5 shipped with this package. What an amazing album and the yellow pressing is sonically spectacular.
