This album will remind you of an old-time film music, and an intense film at that. Lots of soundtrack potential here. My appreciation of Loscil peaked with Plume, Endless Falls were okay, Sea Island had this lovely song "Holding Pattern". I would not listen to a suspenseful ambient soundscape just for the sake of it, I need some more melody with my suspense. Or just skip the suspense, give me some Zephyr and Mistral any time.

a great masterpiece again,love it love it,only i wisch it was a 80 minuts release,no problem top quality from a master in this genre ! thanks Scott Morgan for all your work on this release !

Froststalker

This sounds like no other Loscil lp before it (save perhaps for the final track which harks back to the blissful moments of Plume). There is an intensity and urgency to it and a deeper darkness to some tracks (mostly Drained Lake) that reminds me of pieces from The Haxan Cloaks amazing lp Excavation. Certain tracks would fit very well in a dj set alongside pieces by (early) Raime, and Ketev. This is a very exciting new direction for Loscil who has been creating near perfect ambience for over a decade now. I highly recommend.
