Any way to get the Chicago 1982 EP without buying the entire box?
Xtreem
Not currently. The Chicago 82 vinyl and book are exclusive to the box set.
Marige
Can anyone comment on the audio quality of the Chicago 1982 vinyl? It's the live recording of their set from Broadway, May 18, 1982. I've heard older mp3s made from the bootleg cassette tapes many years ago. They sound dull, but the concert itself was outstanding. How does the vinyl sound? Is it sharp, or muddy?
Adrietius
Sounds great, most likely sourced from the master tape. The bootleg mp3s that I had previously were mono, muddy and played a little too fast, so I was impressed when I heard the vinyl.
Hadadel
Has anybody figured out what's up with "Where Are You At Now"? Seems like it's "The Nature of Love (Cruelty Mix A)" (with Cruelty Mix B as the second track on CD 2). There was a track called "Where You At Now" on Twitch, and I expected it to be an earlier version of that, but it definitely is a different mix of Nature of Love and sounds nothing like the song on Twitch. The recent "Toronto '86" live album has a track by the same name that sounds more like what I would've expected the Trax! Box version to sound like.
Meztihn
Here's what Cleo said about "Where Are You At Now": "Regarding track 13, "Where Are You At Now" (as opposed to "Where You At Now" from Twitch) is not a mistake and is exactly as it is labeled in the master hard drive we received from Al. It’s another version of Nature Of Love that may have been set to be released at some point under that title, but never was."I thought it was the same as Cruelty A as well, so I dug out my old Nature of Love 12" to compare. It is very similar, but there are some differences. The overall mix is slightly different, the L/R channels are reversed, and this one plays out a bit longer, where the one on the 12" fades out early.I think "Where Are You At Now" was the original name of the track before it was released as "The Nature Of Love (Cruelty Mix)". I think it inspired "Where You At Now" on Twitch, and especially the live version where Al constantly screams "Go!" with 4/4 Orchestral Hit sounds. The two songs sound a bit related to my ears, but then again it could just be Al not remembering his own material, since he's mixed up the two versions of "I'm Falling" ever since the Early Trax release.

I live in the UK. How do you get the replacement disc? I don't want to purchase this until I know. Thanks in advance.
JOGETIME
If you purchase direct from Cleopatra, it will come with the replacement disc. If you buy it from a third party, send Cleopatra an email with the receipt and a picture of your box with your name somewhere in the picture.

I bought the box new from Cleopatra and it came with the replacement disc.

This is a solid box set by Ministry and long overdue. This contains everything that Ministry and Co. released on Wax Trax! records. The unreleased tracks are fantastic, and in all honesty, this is what Al should have done back in 2004 with the Ryko re-issues. The CDs and vinyl sound great, the mastering has a solid level with no excessive compression. The book and overall packaging are awesome as well. This is just the Wax Trax! stuff, so aside from some demos, there really isn't anything from the Arista or Sire periods. Hopefully we'll see similar releases for those periods.
ACOS
I have to disagree about the excessive compression

Can anyone confirm whether or not their copy has the track "He's angry" completely ruined by being melded with the nature of love remix so they both play at the same time on one track. (mine does). I love this box-set because I love early Ministry and this is a treasure trove, however Cleopatra records are a discrace. Nothing has been remastered; big sexyland is the same horrifically compressed version that ryko put out a few years back (buy the original wax-trax version) The same goes for You Goddamned Son Of A Bitch. The banned version of physical is crappy quality despite a perfect digital release of it coming out years ago on a compilation cd (industrial strength machine music). Where you at now is not even on this despite the erroneous listing. It makes you wonder just how good this could have been had it been given to a proper record company that knows what they're doing.

1. He's Angry has been corrected, the defect was only present in the RSD2015 run.2. Everything has been remastered. Al supplied them with a hard drive of files, all sourced from the original master tapes. IMO, the original Wax Trax CDs sounded a little too soft compared to the vinyl releases. The Ryko versions were a bit louder, but muddier. This is the best these tracks have sounded digitally. I'll argue that the original LP/12" releases sound the best, but this about the best quality that you're going to get for the unreleased/rare tracks.3. Where Are You At Now is how the track was labeled in Al's vault. I inquired about that when the set launched.4. Physical-I honestly can't hear a big difference between the two. The 2015 remaster sounds punchier and not as soft. I'm pretty sure both are sourced from an acetate used for the white label 12". The original session tracks were lost when they revised the track with new vocals.5. Really, the only thing wrong with this set is a few errors with the catalog numbers in the track list. I would have been happy to proof read that for them. There's also a handful of songs that only exist as sub-par audience recordings, and were therefore not included. These songs are mentioned in the book however, for those who want to seek them out on Youtube.

Does this shitstain of a subhuman ever know what the fuck he/she is talking about when "reviewing" a record? EVERYTHING is remastered beautifully you fucking lying scumbag. All came from the master tapes and hard drives supplied by Al. It makes you wonder why in this day and age, brothers and sisters are fucking and making kids who aren't mercifully aborted and instead allowed to grow up to become bluerats.

thanks for the comments on the mastering, can you comment on discs 1,2, 5, 6,7 and the vinyl?

THIS comment is EXACTLY why I didn't go to "Record Store Day"...if anything, forcing me to go into my Local when a bunch of other idiots/flipper types/bimbo significunt others just pisses me off. Most certainly does NOT make me want to support my Local.Anyhow, SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO tired of getting f____d by an industry that continually complains about Piracy, then has the AUDACITY to issue BS like this.If I wasn't a fan, this might be cool, despite it's stupid price point. But, I am a fan, and am now f____d into buying this because SOME of it is exclusive.Personally, I think The Industry helps perpetuate Piracy with STUPID releases like this....never mind the fact I thought Cleopatra (and all their typographical errors on sleeves) was dead....All this being said, I guess I'm off to P____e this :)

Currently the only one i can see is 275usd. $100 flip on something Cleo has only just put on the net for the sale is just rude and is clearly aimed at trying to catch out the uneducated ( or possibly the retarded buyer) . Just compelled to put this here so people have all the info at hand before deciding to sell their newborn to buy this release.

I paid $150 +tax on mine at Mount Analog in Los Angeles. Blinkymodems is mad because not too long after this box was entered into discogs, someone posted a copy for $275.00.

Curious. What was the "face" price of this box set yesterday (RSD)? At least, what was the prevailing price at most stores? I looked around a few stores in downtown Manhattan - none carried it - they didn't get it in the shipments from suppliers. The link you sent currently has ~$160. Sellers asking ~$175 on Discogs. Maybe I'm missing something, but how is the $15 differential retarded? Seems like a minor flip mark-up ... any color appreciated. Thanks.
