A pleasant album of glittering synths and electro beats, all centred around a pretty familiar dream pop style of songwriting, it’s at its best when the songs are atmospheric and melancholic, and worst when the weak as male lead vocals take centre stage. The production here is good, if a bit clean-cut. The beats stay dreamy and never become obnoxious, and the synths are really quite pleasing if you can get past the over-shininess of them. In terms of the songwriting, it’s mostly solid, with some tracks like “Loveless Marriage” being strong pop tracks, but the vocals are just so mediocre, even if the lines they’re singing are decent. The only weak moment compositionally is the bonus track “Sweet Harmony”, which is just downright annoying.
