It took a lifetime to know the artist behind this magnificent italo-disco song! Thanks to the internet. Though at first acquaintance of this hit song I thought it was Finzy Kontini singing it (the artist who brought to us "Cha Cha Cha","Clap your Hands","Night In Paris",and "O La La" in 1987). "Angel You" by Primadonna snatches Madonna's "Like A Virgin" tune sample (as evident from the exact same electric guitar strumming as played originally by Nile Rodgers). Stefania's vocals are stunning making this hit a worldwide sensation in 1986 but radio stations never made to promote Primadonna nor they have introduced them to the masses, but they made a nostalgic impression of the italo-disco genre nevertheless. Maybe because they were one-hit wonders I guess but they are truly a classic nonetheless. One of the most unforgettable classic disco hits of the mid to the late 80s.

A masterpiece in my opinion. While the synth and drum lines are in that classic mid/late 80s style, the vocals by Stefania Dal Pino are what pushes this over the top. She starts out sounding almost blasé and bored, but by the time the chorus ends she's practically growling her vocals! I love it! One of the best Italo vocals of all time, and it all sounds romantic and rocking simultaneously like only the Italians were able to do back then. Definitely underrated, so check it out.
