Close Encounter was released very late in 2006 on In Trance We Trust and immediately became a firm favourite with many clubbers across the globe. In many ways, the B-Side to this release "Tempest" is the better of the two tracks, with a grandiose orchestral section mid-way through before a very hard, crunching breakdown, the likes of which Phynn had never used in his tracks until now. Close Encounter is kind of reminiscent of Lucid in its structure, although it lacks the immediate accessibility of its predecessor and begins to experiment with a different sort of sound, although without ever really foraying too far from the trademark Phynn melody. All in all, a solid release from In Trance We Trust.
