What a time we had in the eighties. Cool movies, cool soundtracks, cool 12"'s.I am partial to a bit of "Beat City" from time to time, It is the standout track for me here on this rarity I have chased like, for-evah. Pure youthful energy on vinyl, with an infectious riff, driving bass-line, crazy synths and great vocals, I still like to think he's saying "Be Sitting Down Now! though. It's what I heard way back when, but it's a mute point, if you had access to a tune like this, would you not dj it right away? It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.The punching energy in this track reflects the abandon and energy in the scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off on that road into Chicago, perfectly. With Ferris at the wheel of that beautiful 1961 Ferrari 250GT California. Not to mention, It's like, my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend's favourite song.Just like the movie, the song is brilliant at evoking the good times we had in the 80's.Eminently danceable too, if you dance like a gurning hatstand! Postscript: This version is NOT the version featured in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off, it is a BBC Studio recording. Not obviously different apart from the sonic quality. There is a ridiculously rare 7" Promo released by John Hughes himself, which was given to Production partners of the movie and a few lucky attendee's of the premiere in 1986.
