Liner notes

It takes a special kind of talent to do exactly what you want and have it accepted by a great number of people, especially when you are working in a field where public acceptance is hard to come by. When jazz
musicians have hits, sometimes it is because they popularize their style. Not so trumpeter, bassplayer, producer and composer Saskia Laroo. She’s not only a hardworking, sincere jazzmusician who is goodlooking, hip, popular and selling a lot of CDs from her selffounded record company Laroo Records, but she also stands for a very high musical level in the many different jazz directions she is going nowadays. Listen to the CD and agree with me! Hans Dulfer

"Bodymusic" is the successor of the swinging in 1994 released album "it's like jazz" of the Dutch trumpet player Saskia Laroo. Like its predecessor, this cd was recorded at Studio the Boot of Rob Gaasterland. On this cd combines Laroo in a very special combination of mostly acoustic instruments the latest dance styles such as drum 'n bass, speed garage, chemical beats, funk and R & b. with the exception of the dedicated to Miles Davis "Shout" were all songs composed by herself. Price numbers include the funky modern chemical beats conditioned "Bodymusic," the drum 'n' bass-tune "Supagroova" with a rap of Mellow Mac, with touches of African influences "Leemou" with vocals by the originating from Senegal Mola Sylla and ' cool ' sounding tracks as "Vibes" and "Well". Cooperation including singer Rosa King, saxophonist Candy Dulfer and bass player Lesley Joseph.
