The UK's "Strings Of Life". Awesome. Beautiful. Timeless. And it's from round here :)Unfortunately, it's 27 years old now (!!!), and it shows - no, not because it sounds dated, but because it emphasises just how downhill Manchester has gone since then. I hate to say it, but nearly all the innovation since the Acid House days has been in London and the surrounding counties: breakbeat hardcore, jungle, d&b, "London" acid techno, UKG, grime, dubstep - all from London, and Manchester barely got a look in.But when I give this one a spin, it reminds me of when this city was, for a brief time, one of the most important places in the world - musically at least. Still, we've got the "Northern Powerhouse" to look forward to, haven't we...

Pmpl! I totally agree and I’m with you rolling my eyes at the ‘great northern power house’!

All of the London genres you mention are shit though....
