Easily an all-time favorite. This is a breakup record (the "relationship is ending" kind, not the "band is parting ways" kind), and it's done so smoothly that it's hard not to feel better about life after listening to it. The cool blend of synthesizers, smooth jazz and deep bass lines is salubrious to the soul, and when coupled with Valerie Day's uncompromisingly adorable voice, the results are near perfection. The appeal to most for this album will be the extremely accessible lyrics; for anyone who's been through a relationship that ended, on good terms or not, they'll find some personal meaning.
