Phase II of the Infiltration release series from Kaoskamfmotif. This album builds on the character of Phase I, offering catchy, creative, experimental/industrial music centered around cosmic and cultish themes. Retreat and Different from the Vulgar also offer the same appearances by the wise old sage that were a trademark on Stagnation and Returning from IP I. There is also chant-like vocals on The Plot to Rule the Universe, which adds a new dimension to the infrequent, but strategically-placed vocal efforts of the project. Overall, IP II is a little darker sounding than IP I, and represents a more ambient, melancholy, disturbing dimension of the artist, while not losing the driving, sometimes almost playful, element that can be gleaned from the group's seductive, trance-inducing grooves.
