This is in my opinion the best coffee-and-cigarette-in-the-morning-music ever made. I cant count the mornings i listened to this and still im not bored. So sad it hasnt seen much represses in the past and is expansive as hell now on vinyl
Ranenast
Some of these have stickers 'file under Ancient' rather than 'file under Ambient'. Great pressing quality on this original version.
Cetnan
The mixtape before people actually sold mixtapes ..... now it's all the rage
Sharpbringer
One of the very best chill-out albums
Bukus
This is probably one of the most original & best albums ever made, I didn't hear this brillant masterpeice till 1999. I got a copy on import out of Piccadily Records in Manchester, when I asked the guy behind the counter was it any good he's reply was "it's alright"(what a dick). When I got home and played it I was totally blown away, I'd never heard anything like it in my life. As soon as it finished I rolled a herbal jazz cig turned my stereo full wack and played it again. This album will never be betterd, I can't belive the book 1001 albums to hear before you die picked The White Room instead of this.IDIOTS.
Opimath
I loved this when it was released and it was something new to me with the most incredible feeling of being transported away from the rave scene. Upon listening to it again fully now in 2013 I realise just how well it has aged, an engaging beautiful soundtrack with just enough of the KLF singles spliced into it to elevate them from the media stereotype of pranksters to genuine musical force. A stunning album.
Forcestalker
A splendid mosaic of sounds. A really unique trip by one of the greatests electronic music duo.
Sharpbrew
Dr. Alex Paterson of The Orb said he was DJ'ing on this record but wasn't credited. Kris Weston of The Orb said he didn't.
Tetaian
And Alex Paterson is a total fantasist, so don't believe him a single word (sic) either.
Blackredeemer
Kris Weston is a bitter cunt, don't believe him a single word.
Umor
An absolute masterpiece. Anyone with the tiniest, most fleeting interest in Electronica should own this album..
Wen
Formed by Scottish situationist Jimmy Cauty & former Echo And The Bunnymen manager Bill Drummond, back in the day, they recorded this masterpiece of soft-focus ambience.Behind a cover depicting a flock of sheep grazing in a field was a trippy mix of pastoral sounds,Elvis samples, african throat singers, preachers and,of course, bleating sheep.Inspired by the space cadet noodlings of Pink Floyd but filtered through post-1988 technological advances,'Chill Out'-and its semi-successor,the'Space'album-is still the ultimate comedown album.
Lyrtois
Jimmy is actually from Liverpool, whereas Bill is Scottish. Can't fault the rest of your review though, a modern masterpiece for those of a certain age indeed.
Anarahuginn
this could be my favorite ambient album. so many memories; so many saturday and sunday mornings. and yet it's not quite ambient; not background music. very engaging. more of a journey, and yet never too intense; just chill. the ULTIMATE soundtrack to put on when you get home from a late night out; for the early dawn.
Beranyle
This really is something a bit different -- more like a sound collage -- drifting through pastoral settings (with the ghosted voice of Elvis hovering over steel guitar). One of the better albums of this genre -- relaxing and dreamy. It reminds me somewhat of Thomas Koner's work, yet more upbeat. A very good late night album.
Mitars Riders
If you've heard other KLF records and they weren't your cup of tea please don't dismiss this one. It will really suprise you. A beautiful piece of work.
ZEr0
I own a white label of this record that has some Cheech & Chong samples at the end, with weird sounds in the background. Basically, the album ends, and then the spot from Up In Smoke where Chong gives Cheech acid appears.
Androrim
how much is a sealed copy of that worth found a white label one sealed. any ideas or buyers? i know the white label singles are going for loads
