Can anyone comment of the quality of this re-release please? I'm thinking about buying it, but I wasn't too happy with the vinyl version of 'Tubular Bells III' I got recently.

To answer my own question (now that I own it) this is a very good pressing. Quiet, flat and full of detailed highs and lows. And, it comes in a polylined inner sleeve!

Does anybody know if this reissue includes an insert with the original Arthur C. Clarke liner notes? Or do the photos accompanying this page pretty much show all that one gets with the package?
TheFresh
What you see is what you get.. black plastic lined inner only...the vinyl is heavy, though!

This is the single record I would take if I had to choose from my collection, if castaway on a desert island.. and the ability to play this music...

I whole heartedly agree with you. I must have listened to this album over 1 000 times and it still moves me. The only other piece of music that elevates me so is Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. I would love to see Mike in concert but we tend to get left out down here in Australia. Tubular Bells 2 also has some really beautiful sections in it.
