*Review of Nalin & Kain mix*Composed by Stephen Jones & Ricky Simmonds (AKA The Space Brothers), under the name "Lustral"."Everytime" was released in 1997 on the Hooj Tunes label, and features the haunting vocals of Tracy Ackerman.Despite being a massive club hit, the single itself was not successful, only reaching a lowly #60 in the UK singles chart. Something of a surprise as the track still sounds fantastic, and would not be out of place if mixed into a modern set in the clubs of today, some 14 years after its initial release.A steady bassline is built up with accompanying choir-like high notes and, strangely, rhythmic bongos (it works on many levels) before Tracy breaks into beautiful song, with copious amounts of reverb. I'm not normally one for vocalised Trance but this is special. After a while that awesome baseline kicks in again and you just can't help but move to it; it's incredibly sexy. Towards the end, the vocals become increasingly frenetic, haunting and reverberated - spine tingling stuff. Vinyl copies in good condition are, understandably, increasingly rare (and valuable in the right market), and mint condition copies (one of which I am very fortunate to own) are even more so - in fact I value that single record more than my car.An all-time great, and the epitome of classic Trance.
