This is a relaxing and emotional album, occasionally i like to take some strolls in the nearest florest, place my headphones and listen to this Album, this is a fine Album that fits well with Nature and with historical buldings. My favourite musics are "pleuston", "Alluvium","Mosse" and the Choral part of the music "Woven"...this Female choral is absolutely outstanding!!! when i listen to this music i imagine myself inside a huge Cathedral or a complex Gothic construction surrounded by a clouded sky...really a medieval song ;-), just like "Mosse" wich has sounds that evoke Scotland Mountains and its life. The music "Keflex" seems a bit displaced, it doesn´t even sound like Loess, it sounds rather a Neoncoil production, still its a nice track with a dark tune. "Tone 2" is for me the less interesting music due to its constant distressing sound...despite that this is nonetheless a High quality Album.

While the music found on here is IDM - its a rather different take on the genre. Most of these tracks have a eerie feeling to them (Maple Cill) with a lot of ambient vibes running in the background (2nd Twelve). This probably comes from their love of ambient work (which they have another project stictly for ambience called Codec Scovill). No samples are ever used in the music, but then again, these tracks are so great that samples might kind of ruin them. IDM fans who also enjoy ambient stuff will wanna check this one out.

Sparse and desolate. There's a soothing beauty through these tracks, but also there's a feel of despair. Quiet, thoughtful, dry sounding tracks that are full of emotion. There's not enough music out these days that capture the sounds and feelings that Loess does here.
