"Play Boy" is on everybody's favorite list for Italo Disco classics. The picture disc is rare, it's sexy, and we all know this song defines the drum machine of the early 80's. While Venise is back on the scene and pumping out new hits in 2007 under this name and Sun-La-Shan, I still stand by the belief that this was her best work of all time, as well as one of the greatest Italo Disco songs ever created. Superradio Records is now famous because of this song, but more importantly, that drum break in the middle of the song has and will continue to inspire many generations.
Blacknight
One of the best italo tunes ever. Dramatic, baroque, intense, dark yet naive, this is a totally UFO-ish record with amazingly inventive electronic drum breaks, thrilling synths, a daring melody full of bizarre yet poisonously addictive chord changes, for a result both glamourous and otherwordly. Bondage electronic pop music on a league of its own. Masterpiece!
