Notes

The release comes in a yellow cardboard package with an IKEA-themed jacket (with touches like “Mondö” and pull-out assembly instructions), a nod to Edward Norton’s character’s obsession with keeping the appearance of being a normal, successful adult. It also features his spirit animal, the penguin. To open the sleeve, a strip of paper with the penguin needs to be removed and the "sacrifice" arrow torn apart, thus separating it in two pieces and destroying it for good, whilst revealing the interior of the sleeve to be printed with ground meat. The package contains printed inner sleeves, an IKEA-like instructions poster, and splattered "pink soap" vinyl.

Outer sleeve can be opened in another way: when separating the flap with the sacrifice arrow, the message "STOP TRYING TO CONTROL EVERYTHING AND JUST LET GO" is revealed.

Timing is not given on sleeve nor label for D4.

When the song titles are read top to bottom, left to right, "un-bolded" letters spell out the "WHere iS My Mind"

I thought ahead and bought two copies of the pink vinyl version when it was first announced, one to sacrifice and one to keep sealed. I also have the original press from '99, this is one of my favorite movies and scores.
Xor
Is the packaging or the runouts for the pink repress any different from the first press?
Vispel
Been repressed as of yesterday by Mondo for $35. Enjoy getting your copy from them directly!
Steelrunner
So weird that I happened to visit the site on the exact day it got repressed. Tried looking for info on the repress now I understand why there's not much discussion
Reemiel
Does anyone knows how to differenciate the pink version from the black version without to open it?Though to get the black one but after opening my copy it turned out to be pink :).Thank you!
Zainian
I received mine mid December and the discs were incredibly warped, contacted Mondo and they shipped a new set of discs with slips but no packaging which makes sense. I sacrificed mine like a good consumer as that was the appeal for me!
Maman
This is being repressed with the same packaging in black vinyl on 31st March 2017 for £45.If you're not bothered about the pink vinyl then don't pay over the odds and wait for this instead.http://www.crashrecords.co.uk/product/fight-club-soundtrack-dust-brothers-double-vinyl-lp-pre-order/
Uranneavo
Yes! I just got mine too, was expecting the black version but got the soap pink pressing!.Very happy. Although side A is noisy as hell.
Gavikelv
i just got what was supposed to be the reissue, and it was pink!
Unereel
This is actually also pressed by Mondo. It's exactly the same but with black vinyl instead of pink.Maybe they just meant that they won't press any more in pink?
Quellik
The records are nice, package's cool. But I listen to it 4 times, and I hear a strange little noise in the background, like a distant ring modulator far in the mix. It's really listenable on "Hessel Raymond K", with low introduction - and it's clearly not on the CD version. Did anybody else notice that ?
Flarik
So did anyone find the hidden Pixies track yet, if it's on this somewhere?I refused to sacrifice my jacket, and instead used an X-Acto knife to slit the right side like a normal vinyl jacket opening. I don't care if that lowers the value or not because I don't ever intend on parting with this for any reason. I was one of the lucky ones who snagged a copy from Mondo first thing, before the scalpers scooped them all up.
Blackbeard
I believe the Pixies song is a rumor, unless someone else can source this or confirm otherwise. Both sides B and D have a slightly raised surface under the label, but I noticed this on the B side of the Mondo Twin Peaks soundtrack too. It's hard to see on the colored vinyl, but I don't see any (split) hidden tracks.
snowball
Great sound, awesome whimsical packaging. The only drawback is the shame of being a consumerist sheep by admitting you need this in your life.
Stylish Monkey
Agreed... A device has yet to be invented that will measure the dichotomy of this record.
Vudogal
Anyone found the hidden track "where is my mind" yet? Seems like they hint at it with the lettering in the track list having some noticeably thiner than the rest. Guessing it might be under the label but any of us willing to sacrifice it that far? Damn they really hit home with all this packaging and messages.
Black_Hawk_Down
the track is not on this album. it's not on the record, on the label, under the label (no glue under the label either as it's pressed into the wax while hot), no parallel grooves. they didn't have the soundtrack rights to the pixies song on the original soundtrack or for this one. the unbolded letters are just a clever little gotcha that goes with the theme of the packaging and also the movie.
Mr Freeman
I'm fairly convinced it's on there for a couple of reasons:1. The timing is not listed for Side D4 or the final track, whereas timing is listed everywhere else. 2. There is an asterisk next to the final track on the vinyl label. What would be the need, as there's no corresponding asterisk on the label.3. On the sleeve the final track is listed under a seperate publishing agency. 4. The hidden Where Is My Mind message of course.5. The fact there's several Easter eggs on the packaging. However I have my copy and I've yet to find anything. Didn't seem to have a double groove, though I'm not super good at that shiz. Not willing to take off the label either haha.
Zyniam
Keep us posted, mate! Would love for someone to crack the nut, so to speak..
Jaberini
I don't think it's under the label (glue in the groove, impossible to play)Maybe the groove is printed ON a label (third man record did this) or more clever, maybe in a parallel groove on one of the four sides. I will receive my copy in two weeks, so i can't check.
Fordg
Anyone get shipping confirmation from Mondo yet? Ordered morning of Nov 16th and haven't heard anything yet.
Jazu
In in so cal and it arrived today
Thoginn
To those who take the coward's way out -- it seems Tyler knows what you're up to, and he's left a special message for you.
Whitesmasher
Vebberim, is that you? (These words are here to meet the 10-word quota)
Anarius
Luckily there will be more. All the scalpers trying to get their extras sold now before everyone finds out about the represses.
Shakataxe
Mondo stated that they're going to repress more pink in the spring. Black will be the retail version.
Hugifyn
Indeed, though the repress scheduled for some point next year will be on black vinyl. I plan on buying a black vinyl repress, and hold onto the pink vinyl and leave it unopened.
Syleazahad
I bought one, it's on the way, ordered just before they sold out, wish I'd bought 2
Faell
I managed to get two... but don't tell the wife!
Acrobat
I received an email from mondo saying they were all sold out but they'll repress them next year. I was fortunate enough to pick up a copy at the Alamo Draft House. I'm still hesitant to "sacrifice" the package and open it...lol
Kamick
im not sure if you have it yet, but they wussed out and didn't glue the envelope. you don't actually "rip" anything.
Altad
Apart from the colour, from the price (35$), the instant sold out, from the quantity (4000), the different artwork...Does this sounds good?Does anyone know the source?
Zahisan
Yes. I can only compare it to the CD version I listened to endlessly in high school, but as far as I'm concerned it sounds perfect. No perceptible crackle or distortion (that wasn't already part of the music) and beautiful bass.
FEISKO
i don't the source but it's pretty full and rich.
Zeks Horde
I actually have mine in hand, came in the post today.
salivan
I wish I had bought two of these bad boys! Amazing Soundtrack :)
Eyalanev
any idea how many of these were made? whats a limited edition these days?
White_Nigga
thanks for the info. its sold out already at mondo btw.
felt boot
Sly Vinyl featured this and said 4000 copies were pressed.
Yellow Judge
I read about 4000 copies in pink now, and some more black in 2017
