There is a sense of Deja-Vu in this release, Armand has been known to rehash ideas and track from time to time. Fact of the matter is 'Ultrafunkula' is 'Funk Phenomena' part 2. Armand took another hiphop vocal sample, this time courtesy of Lords of the Underground, and worked it over a filtered funk loop. It's not bad but it isn't the best thing since sliced bread either. B-Side "Reservoir Dogs" is a Nautilus cutup with a vocal line taken from Redman's verse in "How High". The Deja-Vu is present on this track as well as Armand took the vocal sample from "Funk Phenomena" from the same song. Onto the remixes of the A-Side, Sneak does his usual choppy filtered disco beat and it works really nice. Ganja Kru does a typical jungle version with a combo of Amens, "Sweat Pea" and "Hot Pants" for drums and a chunky bassline. The halftime breakdown where it dips into some G-Funk action is a nice touch.
