Lighthouse: funky, yet driving. Waldorf Salad: funky, yet driving. Somehow L.O. manages on both of these tracks to convey both that driving foot-stompin' feel while retaining some funkitude. Both tracks are two of Lotus Omega's best, and have quite a bit more character to them than those on their full length album Lotus Omega - Recycle Bin on ZMA. In contrast to Recycle Bin's more aggro, full-on feel, we have hints of ass-movin' tint in these two gems. Lighthouse is my favorite of the two, and to this day has what I think is one of the coolest basslines ever created. It keeps itself together a tad more than Waldorf Salad which leans further toward the somewhat disjointed flavor of the album tracks. If you get the chance, get ahold of Lighthouse and check out that bassline - so unique and so signature there's just no way it can be imitated or copied without being completely obvious, hence its true one-of-a-kind status as far as my feeble mind is aware.
