Most veteran club heads know this classic anthem as a Loft/Garage/Funhouse/Warehouse staple. Arguably, it pretty much set the blueprint for several genres (electro, garage, house, freestyle, acid jazz, cosmic disco, boogie, etc). I've played this record over the past 20+ years, for many types of parties (hip hop, house, freestyle, disco, electro) and it's never failed to get a crowd moving. It's a must have for classic lovers and new generation of electro boogie heads.I would classify this 'blue label' version as a 're-edit' rather than a 'remix' since upon closer listen, one can detect that none of the original multi tracks seem to have been recalled or separated for this mix (the original's arpeggiated synth intro has been re-worked into new breakdowns at various points in the record). From a dj stand point, the re-edit works great since it sets up the intro with a much longer lead in and midway breakdown by way of an overdubbed kick drum and cowbell along with some spacey effects and jet engine sounds.Longer than the original mix in length (6:33) it features a maximized master EQ (more pumped than the original mix with compression and the extra kick drum) for maximum dance floor impact. Try mixing with the original 12" version for crowd moving fun.

This vinyl is one of the best synth-disco never made !!! I don't know why this version of 'A Little Bit Of Jazz' is not on the commercial 12" from Prelude Records. The time of this version is 6:33, with much afx like supersonic sounds and and a terrible break who don't appear on the commercial 12". This gem from Nick Straker Band still welcome on a DJ set today. This an anthem of my ELECTRO LIBRE parties at the SHARIVARI in Rouen. +++ DJ Barney From Vernon

This is my favorite Loft classic. Last time David Mancuso spun it at a party I attended I unexpectedly broke into tears. It sounded so perfect, so euphoric. I was a teenager dancing in my room again, wishing I was in the city at one of the fab clubs that would have been playing this to the hilt. I'd say this was my favorite disco record ever, but it's not a typical disco record in any way. It was far better then anything else Nick Straker put out and the actual flipside of the 12", The Beat Inside, which was also the title of the album from which it was culled, was a Paradise Garage crowd pleaser as spun by the master, Larry Levan.
