The last mix on this particular CD "Read My Lips (Rhyme Time Party)" is mastered horribly. It sounds like it is mono and the sound level is dismally low. Anybody else experience this?

You're right. I believe the technical term is 'out of phase'. If you have a mono switch on your amp and turn it on, you will notice that the track almost disappears completely. Probably an error at the mastering stage. I have not tried this but in theory you could correct this by switching the + and - ends of your speaker cable in just one speaker. (Make sure you turn down / off your stereo while doing this). That's a massive faff just to play one track - and you'll need to wire up your speaker correctly again afterwards or everything else you play will be out of phase.

sounds like 'psuedo-stereo' to me, which is where 2 mono mixes run slightly out of phase with each other. cheapest trick in the book, both in application and effect.

Yes, it is very frustrating that such a good mix has been allowed to have been released like that. It sounds like they have recorded the sound directly from a vinyl. I don't believe that there is a better official version available on cd format and if one can actually be found, then I am not as good an Alex Party fan as I thought I was lol
