Remarc's album SOUND MURDERER really takes me back... well, at least to 1994, when jungle was all over the place. And, as if to prove you can't keep a good sub-genre down, here it emerges 10 years later, ragga chanting and all. The drum programming is certainly crisp throughout, and how can you not love the rave sirens permeating "Not 4 U." "Ice Cream + Syrup" goes a little sweeter, unsurprisingly, while "Drum & Bass Wise" and his remix of Physics N' Tricks' "Meridian" bring in hints of atmosphere as they start. Similarly, the title track kicks off with an R&B vibe before the drums start thundering in, while "R.I.P." has a slight chime of mystery. It's a blast from the past, and a fun one at that.

Proper Jungle from back in the day, Remarc is one of the true innovators. Few people have cut-up amen breaks like this man did in the mid 90's, still sounding awesome - a real essential weather you were there at the time or if you dig the current ragga/Jungle revival - get yer education, he still blows most competition out of the water. Aparently his brother Eksman has encouraged him to start DJing again too :)
