In many ways the forgotten single from Music For The Jilted Generation. Originally released on white under the alias Earthbound, One Love at one point was apparent proof that The Prodigy could make more underground and valuable music than commercialised rave- a response to that particular criticism. However, when compared to the album it eventually featured on, that quality has dated badly. You can get the edit of One Love and Full Throttle on Jilted Generation, and the remix here is nothing interesting. The only real reason to check out this single is the B-side Rhythm of Life. A dark, gnarly and energetic breaks track, it sounds like an early ancestor of Voodoo People and fits the same not-quite-jungle non-genre. That this track has been largely lost in the mists of time while One Love and Full Throttle were somehow deemed superior and put on the album is a tragedy. A version of MFTJG with Rhythm of Life replacing Full Throttle would have elevated an already brilliant LP that little bit further. A great chance missed, sadly.

Indeed, Rhythm of life is the star of this single. In my opinion Full Throttle is great also. I would prefer Rhythm of life to replace One love of The heat the energy on the album. Is such an underrated song and lots of people dont even know the existance of this song. Same with Scienide which is also an outstanding outtake.

I agree completely. Rhythm Of Life is exactly what Prodigy is all about. Unrelenting hardcore rave energy, and this track has a lot of that. I consider it a much better track than Full Throttle really.

Rhythm Of Life is a great track yes, but no way should it have replaced Full Throttle on Music For The Jilted Generation. My only annoyance with this single is that One Love is included as an edit only. You had to source XL Recordings: The Fourth Chapter to get the full version on cd (before the Greatest Hits was issued, obviously). One Love is a Prodigy classic, I don't think it's dated that badly at all.
