Under the monikers of Twisted Tongue and Mondo Disco, writer/producer Dave Jay has spent much of this decade releasing remixes and edits on well-regarded labels such as Mangled, Restore, Above Machine and Acid Jazz. But his spiritual home since 2012 has been Oslo-based Aural Graffiti Records, where he continues to hone his distinctive brand of blissful balearica and dubbed out machine funk. Aural Graffiti, in collaboration with Jay, has now compiled ‘The AGR Sessions’, incorporating the highlights of his two EPs alongside a selection of exclusive, previously unreleased remixes and remasters. Marking Twisted Tongue’s third LP since the ever-changing collective’s inception in 2008, ‘The AGR Sessions’ features both seasoned session players (vocalist Johanna Lee, flautist Simon O’Grady and trumpeter Graeme Flowers) and essential collaborations with fellow travellers Maricopa, The Project Club, Lusty Zanzibar, Jamie Blanco and Rubberlips. ‘The AGR Sessions’ streets as a digital-only album in May 2015, and will be available through Juno, iTunes and other reputable digital outlets.
