In order to not miss out on this lp I ordered two copies from different shops.Curiously,one is numbered out of 1000,and the other out of 250.Anybody got any ideas what's going on with that ?

250 was first pressed and sold out pretty much straight away so another batch of 750 was made.

Hmm... I don't get the sentence "édition le champion' mis-print avail in green ink 1/250" that Hippos In Tanks posted themselves. In which way are they mis-printed? And to what extent are they "avail"? I bought the green ink version (97/250) here on discogs. Don't know about the red ink edition.

so,at the risk of sounding ridiculously anal,which should I hold on to ? the out of 1000,or the out of 250 ? I ordered 2 copies so I may aswell get the more collectable of the two.I collect everything Hype Williams have done and obsolutely love what their doing.

Yes I saw that,but strangely the one numbered out of 1000 is in blue ink,and the one numbered out of 250 is in red ink.

According to Volcanic Tongue: "All VT copies are the 180g vinyl édition le champion, handnumbered in green ink to 250 copies." (http://www.volcanictongue.com/artists/show/3614). In plain terms, I think the first 250 were hand-numbered in green ink while the remaining 750 were numbered in blue...A second edition has come out now, a week later, of 1,000 copies-- though I don't know details regarding numbering.
