the vocal for the track is a poem read by Wole Soyinka called "Muhammad Ali At The Ringside, 1985" taken from the album "Our Souls Have Grown Deep Like the Rivers" released on Rhino Records in 2000.

Thanks so much for this information I wrote what you said exactly on the sleeve Thanks so much I can't tell you how many times i've danced to this by Danny Tenaglia back at his residency at the Vinvyl It's truly one of the most stand out house tracks completely enchanting sadly my copy was part of the batch my parents put outside covered in tarp and it molded completely I had to wash 400 records

This track is a true beauty as we are dwelling deep in the african jungle on this one. The beats are hard and distinct, but the subtle and flowing bassline that comes in makes everything glide smoothly. When i first heard this, i thought the spoken vocal told a tale about a club evening as he starts off with "The arena has darkened, the spotlights has been borrowed for a while..." But in true spirit, he talks about the legendary boxing match between Mohammad Ali & George Foreman that took place in the Zaire-jungle over 25 years ago. Whoever wrote the lyrics should receive an award of some kind. A brilliant record.

Well actually, Wole Soyinka did win a Nobel Peace Prize.
