The hardest thing to decide when purchasing The Legendary Pink Dots is what to buy. The amount of available music by them is overwhelming. I try to stick to the "major" releases and therefore this is my first new purchase since 2008's Plutonium Blonde. Pages of Aquarius has all the creepy noises, haunting melodies, provocative lyrics, and other elements of disturbingly entertaining electronic innovation. It is a sublimely tense album which subtly builds up as you listen. A disquieting and unnerving listening experience that is addictive. This is not a casual listening experience. It is one to savor and linger over. Especially suited for nighttime enjoyment, glass of wine in hand, better yet absinthe, lights out and candles burning. After listening expect to be energized and full of nervous tension. You won't want to sleep yet so be prepared for a evening stroll or even a night out and about. The vinyl packaging is a nice gatefold colorful cover with lyrics inside. The inner sleeves are simple black ones. The black vinyl is accentuated with colorful labels matching the front of the album. It does come with a download card for a digital copy of the record. Therefore I recommend a physical purchase of the vinyl as the CD does not have The Weight of Water which is an exceptionally good almost 16 minute track.

In between those, you missed 2010's Seconds Late for the Brighton Line and 2013's The Gethsemane Option. I especially recommend the former, which is very progressive and atmospheric, one of their best "proper" albums of the 2000s.
