A album I once dismissed giving it a 2/5. Listening to it again in 2017. I now appreciate its experimental abstract style that has made me up my original score from a 2/5 back then, to a now 4 or 5/5. This could be due to hearing and adjusting to the more modern abstract experimental styles of Ambient-Idm-Techno-Electro album released after 95, as from artist like Autechre, Arovane, and Funckarma (aka..); which I grew to like, then realizing there's more to Wechselspannung 2, released in 95, then what I previously thought! Track1 is not the freestyle random abstract mess I previously thought! But a uniquely managed freestyle abstract piece that brings electro-ambient together, along with molecule zapping effects & algorithmic freestyle patterns of techno-Idm, also a kind of leftfield alien rhythmic breakbeat which phases in at certain points - all quiet experimental too. The track is abstract with a rather freestyle, zappy, and even jazzy style in its electronic ways, which makes Trk1 a interesting complex piece, though not obvious at first, but does unravel its character more with each listen as patterns and abstract emerge, mingle, and separate throughout its 20+mins play length that probably won't observed at first . Track2 is a excellent piece that starts of quiet ambient with its electro plinky plonky bare structure, though gradually builds to deliver a more rhythmic and melodic direction delivering a blend of Idm-Electro-Techno with a spacey futuristic feel. It is part minimalism but its complex style of experimental, tranquil sounding, abstract ambient, alien synth riffs, and melodic music plus sequenced ping-pong beats bring surprises with some nice uplifting moments. A great track that can surprise! Track3 ends with a spacey slow shifting abstract style of electro ambient. Minimal and slow moving with quiet a alien feel. Not a bad piece, but does feel like a quieter slower version of Track 1 which has now been edited, tweaked, and slowed down. Personally would have loved if a little more of Track 2 was added in 3 as 2 is a great track that would have been a great ending to the album. The weakest track, again a grower, but once adjusted keeps you listening. Overall this is a quality album, might not be absorbed at first, but is a album that reveals itself, esp Trk1, with more listens over time, this is a album that will bring you back to its alien abstract experimental music again and again!
