This is one of those UR/Red Planet/Mike Banks records in which sometimes, if you can catch yourself feeling it, you realize the native American musical motifs or intimations. Here, they're in the 'ritualistic' chant from the Astal Apache (AKA Banks) on 'Wardance', suitably 'techno-ized' of course by by means of looping, and possibly even ReCycling (or some other similar creative computer editing technique) - in the end, it sounds human, but barely earthly and sits in Drexciya's maelstrom techno trip as aptly as a lucid dream. This is a great double pack, but it's all about this track for me. And yes, I said Drexciya. Don't tell me you didn't know?

I'm listening to this great record right now, I just bought it over the weekend. It is absoluteley astonishing the way The Martian can produce this kind of techno from outer space. The record begins with a rhythmic track which is a good way to start things off. The B side is darker and more rough. B1 is just a braincrackin' track, it seems to take a couple times of listening to dig this one. B2, Bass Station 303 is one hell of an acid track. This shows the great diversity in producing capabilities of this great artist(s). 'Skypainter' (C side) is definateley a classic track, this one takes you to places you have never been. The D side; 'Spontaneous Lifeform' also has to be one of the greatest tracks from the Red Planet catalogue. The track moves is all kinds of way's, swingin' like hell (or Mars for that matter). This is a must have for every Detroit fanatic out there period.

"Spontaneous lifeform"! Yes, that is one of these really good tracks from detroit for which I'm living for. Mostly ignored, but it has these special strenght and intensity deep inside. An eternal minimal acid classic for open minds, worth to check!
