... I also love the records of Ultimae Label. But what still don't get is, what's the meaning of putting an hidden track on the CD? When the last title shown on the CD-Player, I replace the CD ... I mean, why should I wait for about 5 or 6 minutes to hear another track? Do they wanna proof my patience? Sorry folks, I still don't get this politics.

It's a bonus surprise for those who like to investigate more. A very common thing during the 1990s, before everybody was putting their CD in the computer and finding the hidden track straight away. You might not know the track's there for the first 10 or 20 listens and then one day accidentally leave it on, and suddenly - surprise! A nice bonus. Just a bit of fun really.

This is exceptional. It displays ethnic beats with ambient soundscapes and ethereal textures in a beautifully balanced way. I really don't think I've come across a "bad" release from Ultimae. I'll be looking forward to I Awake's next outing.

What I love about Ultimae is their core concept of "panoramic music", which implies a cinematic dimension, making the tracks also as soundtracks to whatever you're doing / dreaming while listening. This has made me feel Ultimae's music is very related to the ambience of what's around me, particularly, the weather. So yes, I relate Ultimae's music to a moment in time: daytime, night-time, winter, summer, fall, rainny days, sunny days.... each album has its perfect fit. Aes Dana is more of a dark-themed moment, rather for foggy / rainy afternoons, with occasional sunbeams; Solar Fields is way more luminous (sun, sun, sun... but also sunny winter cold days for some tracks); HUVA networks (particularly "distances") is for the depths of a lonely meditative night... and so on. I Awake "the core" is one of the few ultimae's albums that has a perfect fit for a summer night. Yes, this is a night-time album, for a very hot and calm summer night. It is probably the first track that sets this mood, but I really think it fits one of those nights of calmness at home, with the window opened, a calm tranquil summer breeze coming in... Overall, I think the first half of this CD is amazingly mind-blowing, especially tracks 3-4 (track 3 seems like an introduction to track 4). The second half has ups and downs but overall... a very good album.
