I cannot believe this is a live performance (thinking about the Prokofiev in particular). I used to think it was a substandard disc, sound-wise, but now that my record player has a very good cartridge AND NEEDLE, the sound is decent. Not great, but decent for a 60s live recording. On anything less than a really stellar tracker, the pressing will be fairly noisy, and slightly distorted at the loudest passages in the inner grooves; be warned. But the supreme quality of the musical information makes the sonic shortcomings a non-issue.A testament to this musical titan.
