B.B. King : "Sounds are more important to me than tryîng to play a lot of notes. It's like automobiles. You can have speed or economy, not both.
Pentru mine, sunetele sunt mai importante decât să cânt o înşiruire de note. E la fel ca la automobile. Poţi avea viteză sau economie, nu amândouă deodată."

B.B. King : "The blues was like a problem child that you may have had in the family. You was a little bit ashamed to let anybody see him, but you loved him.
Bluesul era ca un copil problemă pe care l-ai putea avea în familie. Erai un pic jenat să-l prezinţi altora, dar îl iubeai."

B.B. King : "I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice.
Am spus că să cânţi blues e ca şi cum ai fi de două ori negru."

B.B. King : "I still haven't got the sound I actually want, but I think I'm pretty close to it.
Încă nu am obţinut acel sound pe care îl doresc cu adevărat, totuşi cred că sunt foarte aproape."

B.B. King : "I was a very good cotton picker. I've picked almost 500 pounds of cotton in a day, which is a lot of cotton. I was really a very good farmhand, I'm proud to say.
Eram foarte bun la culesul bumbacului. Adunam circa 250 de kilograme de bumbac pe zi, ceea ce înseamnă mult bumbac. Sunt mândru să pot spune că eram un salahor foarte bun."
